The no-hackle CDC is very easy and with a bit of floatant it sits very nicely in the surface film. I tend to tie these with a white wing (for moving water it does help for visibility), but keep a variety of colors at hand in sizes from #22 up to #14. They are easy to tie, only involves 3 materials and will catch fish!

My first attempt on a classic wet-fly, took what material I had at hand and proceeded to get something together that wasn’t half bad. Been looking into traditional wet-fly fishing lately and my next project will be to tackle some of Bergman’s “Trout” patterns
This nymph blend from Wapsi was one of the first dubbing packages that I bought and I have gone through quite a few packages, I don’t know if it is because I started out with this or if it is because I really like it! The blend is easy to work with and gives a life in nymphs (and slender emerger bodies) that I appreciate.
The blend is a good mixture between fine and long fibers
Dubbing on the thread is very easy: can be applied both in a thin and quite a thick layer on the thread
Dubbed on a Mustad 94840 #14 here, the long fibers tend to stick out and give lots of life to the body
On a Dai-Riki 135 #14 hook, with Hareline Scudback 1/8″ and Ultra wire wrapped. Here the blend comes through to its name and creates long nice legs on the fly

As simple as you can get it: 2 types of thread and silver wire, this tiny midge can come in handy on one of those days that the trout is picky.

Great little spinner pattern, first time I have used Organza for a fly, and the Turkey Biot got on nicely: I got my first biot this winter and have spent some time getting it on correctly, but now it seems to get on ok. The taimen beaver dubbing in the thorax should give the fly some buoyancy.
