A silver rat on a Alec Jackson Spey #1.5 hook with Whiting spey hackle and Whiting rooster saddle front-hackle.
Since I worked through some of this pattern on the double hook I need to get some singles done as well: I start on #1/0 and work myself down to #8 on the TMC7999 salmon hook, tying up 2 of each size so that I have some to choose from when I’m in the river.

A pattern on facebook got me in the direction of this fly, a grey&silver some might call it, but I used what I had to create this double on different hook sizes.
The all-silver body combined with a thin wing and trying to have a sparse hackle will make this sink quickly in the current and give a lot of visual feedback. I’ll tie this one up on singles and on tube as well, but I’ll do that later, for now I’m on a double rush!
The head on the smallest one did not come out very good, but it will catch some fish anyway:

A blue version of the cascade salmon pattern that should work fine for seatrout around here as well. This version is very heavily dressed compared to earlier cascade I have done, but this was with purpose to have big movement in the water.

A pattern I picked up from granbo-flyfishing.no, and since I’m on a spey roll these days I figured I could give the spey version a try. My change is the red butt: the article about the Rotenon gives floss or silkbraid as butt, but since I don’t have that and I do have a lot of the red UV seals fur, I thought I’d give that a try.
The fly is very lightly dressed and is very light in hand, even though it is on the large #1.5 spey hook. I like this pattern: I’ll dress up some on double and smaller single to keep in my box.
