Yellow Rabbit Emerger

Hook: TMC 2457 #14
Thread: Sheer 14/0 Yellow
Body: Hareline Turkey Biot Yellow
Wing: Rabbit Feet Aurivilli
Thorax: Peacock, Fly-Rite Extra Fine Poly #9 Golden Yellow

Got this great rabbit foot dyed in aurivilli yellow the other day and needed to tie some smaller dry-flies again (been on a salt-run lately), this yellow emerger should go great for trout. The sparse wing will make it float just below the surface, great for trout!

Another trip to this river so very close to Oslo that it is a wonder why I haven’t visited it before! A 3 hours walking trip  up/in the middle of the river and covering more ground. A fresh river (as in: not fished before) is very exiting: finding the spots where the trout is, coming around a bend in the river and seeing a beautiful section unfold where you just know that the trout is standing ready.

A well known view: the moment before fishing can start

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAThe vegetation in larger parts of the river makes waders a absolute must-have if you want to get the fly out there

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAThe Aurivilli is so far the best bet in this river: I landed 5 20cm trout on this trip with sizes #12 and #18

Getting ready for some fishing tomorrow with this family of Aurivilli in various sizes. The forest around Oslo should be primed with the last few days reaching up into the mid-20C and a bit of rain, so I will bring my bike out and check out some new areas that I haven’t tested out yet.
