Wing: Mallard Duck Bronze Shoulder

A fluorescent green spey! Inspiration came from a pattern on the facebook spey tyer page. Tried to keep this slim and not fill it with too much material, and I think I succeeded in that: it is slim, just two turns of hackle and a overall slim profile. This will swim very well!

A lot of Blue Charms from me this winter, this time it is (yet) another one, but now on tube.

After all of these different versions of Blue Charm on different hooks, styles and sizes I’m thinking about making a frame with 7-8 different versions to hang on the wall, what do you think?

Spey Flies book arrives

The “Spey Flies – How to Tie Them” by Bob Veverka has finally arrived in the mail! I got it yesterday after ordering directly from Bob on facebook. This is a re-print of the original and I got it signed.

I have only read the first chapter so far and glanced through some of the chapters and so far it looks very good, this will be one of those for a cold winter night to digg into the spey flies even more! I was inspired this morning to tie up some of the Sunturn Spey:

First tube since early summer! This is a willie gun variant that I picked up on youtube. Tried to dress it lightly and not overdo the hackle and wing, this needs to be tied up in different sizes and some on heavy tubes before the summer!
