flyhooks.org – A.Jensen

flyhooks.ajensen.streamer.6-grid

I have updated the A.Jensen section of flyhooks.org with a lot of new pictures today (a total of 52 sizes in the A.Jensen collection now), thanks to A.Jensen that sent samples for the remaining hooks that I didn’t have. There are two sizes missing that I’ll get my hands on soon, but you will get a full overview of their catalogue.

I’m working on re-measuring some of the first hooks I added to flyhooks before I’ll add a new batch of 10 new hooks that I got sent the other day. After that I’ll get some better search functionality and revamp the design of the sites, but if you have some hooks that you can spare: please contact me!

  • Hook: TMC 200R #8
  • Thread: UNI 6/0 Brown
  • Tail: Spirit River Mottlebou Brown Marabou
  • Body: Spirit River Mottlebou Brown Marabou
  • Rib: UTV Ultra Wire Copper
  • Wing: CDC Brown & Tan in dubbing loop
  • Wing Casing: Foam

Even though the snow is still on the ground, and the lakes around Oslo is frozen solid, it is not long until spring time and first hatches begin. The Ephemera Vulgata is one of the biggest mayflies around here and in the forest around town you can get large hatches during summer! If you ever meet a hatch you should be ready, and I’m starting my box with some emergers, here in size #8.

A fly tied for fishing after atlantic salmon this summer. Deviated slightly from the original pattern by using CDC/GP as veil, omitted the ibis in the tail and skipped the yellow silk in the tag
