When I got the closed cell foam from Andre Brun to tie up some moth, I also ordered a package of the Micro Polychenille to create some extended dries. The TMC 111 is great for this setup where you have a short body and a extended tail – the gap is also wide so you can tie it down in small sizes and not have to worry about the small gap that a more normal hook will have.

Almost as simple as you can create them: wrap the vinyl rib from the head down to the hook bend and back up again, apply a bit of dubbing to form a head.

More baitfish, but this time I’ve tied up a family on tube instead. easier to transport, I can change the hook size and these long baitfish will really make the seatrout hit it aggressively!

This effective little caddis comes from The Trout Bum himself: Andre Brun (although this one is a tad bit fatter on the body). Can be tied up in different colors, but the pale yellow/grey wing is a combination that was very effective last summer and will be well used this year as well. It is also very easy to tie: just get that wing down flat over the body – clip the hackle on top and bottom to flatten the fly – it makes wonders for presantation on the river
