A spikey emerger that sits low in the water. I have not tried the yarn as ribbing before, but it was light and I needed something that wouldn’t weigh the fly down too much.

This is more of a one-time experiment to see how the polychenille will act as a extended body on a mayfly. Have not tested out that before so it will be interesting to observe how it will behave in the river. The body together with the hackle and V-wing should be a ok profile on the water.

Body: Peacock with Whiting hackle wrapped around the body, trimmed on top and bottom
I draw a lot of inspiration from the list of other flytyers I have in my blogroll, this one showed up at baksleng the other day and should be interesting to test out for the next trip.
