Here is a GH I did this morning (on a Mustad 80500BL #2/0: http://flyhooks.org/mustad/80500bl ), but with a twist: I used polar bear in the wing instead of the normal married wings. I did some small GH earlier this year with PB, but not following the pattern as strict. I wanted to have a fly that would be easy to tie, didn’t take too much time, and at the same time gave me that composition of colours and flare that a fully dressed GH have. Going to tie up some more of this in different sizes (from #1 to #5/0)

Durham Ranger – Mustad 80500BL
I recently got a batch of Mustad 80500BL hooks and had to tie up a Durham Ranger on it (a #2/0) last night to see how it came together. I like the hook bend better than 80500-NPBL (that hook is stronger though…), but I haven’t fished it yet, so this will go in the fishing box for 2016.

Small Green Highlanders
Two small GH today: one on Kamasan B280 #10 and one on Partridge Patriot #8, both of them with a 3cm wing. These are for a trip up north with a friend, and I got the challenge to tie these small ones for the river there. Think I will go for the Kamasan #10 for the rest of the batch, but I might take with me some on the Partridge hook as well, we’ll see.
