The summer is coming to a end soon, but I’m heading out to a river this weekend, so I got myself some Goat yesterday to tie up some sunray shadows. The brown and white are goat while the black overwing is templedog. This is the first time I have tried to tie anything with Goat, but the material feels very good and should make a lot of movement in this fly.
Follow up on tube with a pattern that I have done on a double hook before: the blue/green combination of this makes it a great combination for seatrout. The long hackle gives it a flowing movement in the water that will trigger a bite
Got this pattern from Davie McPhail over on youtube and this is the first attempt, will try it out on some #4 double hooks later on.
